Artist: Laura Deck

Artist Statement:

Painting encourages me to stop and notice the world around me. When I am painting, I see beautiful shapes and colors. Time seems to stand still and I am filled with peace.

I am grateful that I have a comfortable place that allows me to be creative, alone or with like-minded friends. I continue to learn from gifted teachers. Age does not limit my artwork. The older I get the more I appreciate being able to improve at something I am passionate about. Pastels bring color to my world.

Gallery 2017 is located in the Council Chambers at Enumclaw City Hall. 1339 Griffin Ave. Enumclaw, WA 98022. Hours for the exhibition space are 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enumclaw City Hall is closed on national holidays. Gallery 2017 is closed to the public on Tuesday of each week for municipal court proceedings.
